All About the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program
What is the CACFP?

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), operating under the United States Department of Agriculture, provides nutritional guidelines, training and reimbursement to registered daycare homes and licensed facilities serving meals to children and/or adults.
Who can participate?

Participation in the program is provided through non-profit sponsor organizations in each state such as Northwest Nutrition Service.  All registered daycare providers and/or Department of Human Services providers (DHS) homes meeting nutritional and record keeping requirements are eligible for monthly cash reimbursements.

Why should I participate?

There are a variety of benefits to participating and there is no cost to you.
Provider: A Registered or DHS daycare provider can receive monthly reimbursements for serving nutritional meals to their daycare children and nutrition education.
Child: Each child receives nutritional meals that meet USDA requirments as well as learning positive eating habits for the future.
Parent: Parents receive reassurance that their child is getting their nutritional needs met without extra cost.
Community: Improvement and quality care of children in the community by meeting their nutritional needs.
