Required classes for day care providers
Class/Resource listing for Marion county

To meet the registration requirement for training classes, you must attend

  • A First Aid/CPR class
  • 2 hours of training in recognizing and reporting Child abuse
  • Obtain a food handlers card (this requires a test)
  • 8 hours of child care related classes
  • All providers whose renewal applications are received at the Child Care Division office on or after April 1, 2002, will have a Health and Safety Review by a Child Care Division Family Child Care Specialist.

    Northwest Nutrition Service provides 1 hour of your 8 required hours each year during our annual training in your home. You will receive a certificate. This is your proof of 1 hour of child related classes. You will need to send a copy of the certificate with your other requirements when you renew.

    Also, all exceptions become void at time of license expiration. You must renew these each time you renew your license.
