All new day care providers must attend an overview meeting in their county. Current meeting schedules are available from the Child Care Resource and Referral of Multnomah County. Call for a current schedule and to reserve a place in advance. At the meeting you will receive a copy of the rules and regulations for operating a day care in your home. You will also receive an application that will need to be completed and sent to the Oregon Child Care Division.

Child Care Resource and Referral progams provide:

• Information about accreditation and local workshops for providers and scholarships to help cover training and accreditation fees
• Personal consultations about your child care concerns
• Information and resources about health and safety, child development activities for children, business development, taxes and zoning
• Lending library of videos, book, toys and equipment
• Parent referrals (after matching the parents' child care needs with information you've provided about your child care services)
• Referrals to other community resources, including provider support groups
