What is Tiering?

Tiering is the process by which a sponsoring agency, such as Northwest Nutrition Service, determines the rate of reimbursement a provider will receive for the snacks and meals they claim.

Currently, there are two levels of reimbursement for meals and snacks. Tier I and Tier II. Click here to see the Reimbursement rates for both Tier I and Tier II. All providers are automatically eligible for the Tier II reimbursement level. All providers have the opportunity to apply for the higher Tier I rate of reimbursement.
