Renewal Requirements for
Registered Day Care Providers

You are required to be registered if:

You give child care to more than three day care children who are from more than one family, and you do this for more than 70 days in a calendar year or you receive payment from an agency that requires you to be registered or you want to participate in the USDA Child Care Food Program.

Registration Renewel Requirements:

1. You should receive a renewal form from the Child Care Division 6 weeks
prior to your expiration.

2. You must show proof of participation for the following classes:

* 2 hours of training in recognizing and reporting child abuse
* First Aid/CPR Card
* Food Handlers Card
* 8 hours of child care related classes.
* Pass a Health and Safety Review. All family child care providers whose renewal applications are received at the Child Care Division on or after April 1, 2002, will have a Health and Safety Review by a Child Care Division Family Child Care Specialist.

3. Mail a copy of your renewal certification to Northwest Nutrition Service to
continue participating in the USDA food program.

 

Northwest Nutrition Service provides 1 hour of your 8 required hours each year during our annual training in your home. You will receive a certificate of proof each year after your annual training.
